3rd Annual Cox Farm

We had our 3rd Annual Cox Farm trip today. Mom and Dad took off work early, and took you both out of school early, so we could spend time together as a family. Our tradition has been to go to Cox Farm every fall, and this year was no exception.

What was great was the Aunt Amanda and Matt came along, and so did Uncle Mark, Aunt Lora, Parker, Summer, Josiah, and Grandma! It was a cold one this year, but you guys didn't even notice cause you were having so much fun.

We did all the usual stuff, like the goat farm, the rope swing, the hayride, the slides, and the eating of kettle corn, apples, and apple-cider. But the highlight this year was the unveiling of the new GIANT SLIDE!!! That thing had to be 4 or 5 stories tall. It was HUGE!!! And since we were there on a Wednesday, and not a Saturday, you guys were able to go down it probably 15 times!!! It was GREAT!

Spending time with family is always great! I'm so glad for this tradition that brings us all together to have fun and laugh and play! I love you boys, and I LOVE spending time with you!

Sammy scored his first ever goal in soccer today! Way to go Sammy! YAY! I sure am proud of you! I don't think I EVER scored a goal when I played soccer as a kid! Both you and Noah have scored goals! YOU GUYS ROCK!!!

DISNEY

The time has come that every child and parent dreams about - - to hear those magic words: "We're going to Disney!"

You guys have been begging for years now, and we are finally taking the plunge! It's so expensive!!! But your Mom put it in a great perspective yesterday when we were making the final decision. She said, "we need to look at it as an investment in our kids."

For some reason, my memory of childhood is spotty! I just don't remember that much! But there are certain memories with my family, with my parents, that I do remember. And one of them is Disney! To me, it's so important to create memories in your lives.

I'm not the best parent, by any stretch! But one thing you boys know is that I love you! And I was just thinking yesterday, if there is anything I want to pass on to you (besides Faith in Jesus), it's to create memories with your kids some day! And one thing I will spend money on is creating memories!

I don't spend money on expensive toys, cars, or clothes. Walmart clothes are fine! Playing the latest video game at the neighbors is just as good as playing at our house! Actually, it's better cause I don't have to pay for the game!!! Being able to ride around in the biggest car/truck so your friends think your cool just doesn't matter to me!

But I will spend money on an experience with you boys! A plane ticket to go somewhere! Baseball tickets! Basketball tickets! Money for a fun camping weekend! Experiences that you will always have! It's an investment, and it's WORTH IT!!!

Disney is the biggest investment experience yet! But I am so exciting about giving this experience to you, and to myself!!! I can't wait to tell you! I can't wait to walk in to those gates and see your faces! It is going to be AWESOME!!! You boys are worth the investment!
