SOX WIN WORLD SERIES

Sammy was 6 and Noah was 8 when the Chicago White Sox won their first World Series in 88 years.

You boys may not ever like sports, or baseball, or Chicago teams, but your old man does! And there has never been a World Series Title in Chicago in my lifetime! In fact, as you can see by the picture, this is the first World Series title for the Sox since 1917! And the last one the Cubs won was 1908! Holy Cow!!!!

So what's the life lesson here (smile)? When your favorite team wins it all, enjoy it cause they may not win again for another 100 years!!!

Go White Sox!!!

It's the Fella's! This is actually a couple months old. It's from Folley Beach in South Carolina. We vacationed there with Grammy, Uncle Ben, Uncle Jonas & Aunt Ashley, Uncle Andy and Aunt Scotti, Uncle Cheston and Aunt Andi, and Aunt Betty and Uncle Wylie!

This was a fun vacation. We went crab hunting (and you guys caught crabs almost every day), we went swimming (of course), I buried you both in the sand, we did some boogie boarding, we collected sea shells, and we walked the beach. It was a great vacation just because we were all together!

I love spending time with my boys! Memories like these are the best. If there is any thing I would want to pass on to you boys, it would be to make memories with the people you love! Family Rules! Friends come and go, unfortunately. But FAMILY IS FOREVER!!!! I love you boys! Good memories!

Another fun day with my boys! Last night we made fortune tellers! Do you remember those? They are these things made out of paper that you pick a number from, than a color, and than you open the little flap and it says something.

We wrote things like "Your feet smell", and "You watch TeleTubbies", and "You like to eat fish eyes", etc. You guys were doing them all night and we were all laughing so hard ... especially Sammy!

I love it when you boys laugh. I hope you always keep that sense of humor that you have. I hope you always remember that it is so important to be able to laugh at yourself. First of all, there is no one else who will create more opportunities for you to laugh at than yourself! Believe me, I do so many goofy and even dumb things throughout the day that I have more chance to laugh at myself than anybody! Second, it disarms others who try to use insulting humor to bring you down. There are a lot of insecure people who do this. They make jokes at your expense b/c they figure that if they can make you look dumb, it makes them feel better about themself. But when you laugh too, they don't know what to do. But, when you rip them back, than it shows that it really bothered you.

It's tough to know how to deal with people who are mean! But, one thing I do know for sure, the ability to laugh is a great asset! The Bible even says that "laughter is a good medicine!" I like to think of it as a vitamin, too. Medicine cures sickness, but vitamins prevent them. Learn to enjoy laughter! Don't laugh at others' expense, but just learn to laugh at life, at troubles, at things that go wrong, at how crazy circumstances are, and at yourself!

We have so much fun together at home. You boys are so funny and you make me and your Mom laugh so much! I hope you can take that with you where ever you go!

I love you Noah and Sammy!

Yesterday was a BLAST! I got off work a little early and picked you guys up from the bus and we headed straight to Lowes. We were on a mission! We went to go buy a fire pit for the back yard. We looked at several, but you guys helped me pick the cheapest one, cause we always buy the cheapest one, for some reason!

Than we ran to the grocery, bought some hot dogs, buns, and marshmellows and headed home. You guys were so excited that it was hard to get you to focus. But, you had to do your homework first. After that, we built a fire in the little firepit in the back yard, and waited for it to get going. Once it did, we used some wire hangers and you guys both cooked hot dogs over the fire! YUM!!! They were delish!

As it got dark, we pulled out the marshmellows and some lawn chairs. Mommy came out and we began roasting marshmellows and telling campfire stories. Noah wanted a scary story, but Sammy did not! So, we decided to tell a story that everyone contributed to. Mom started the story with something about a Bear and campers. When it got to Sammy, it turned into the Bears having gas or something gross like that. Noahs turn continued to have to do with poop and gas and something about a mustache man. We laughed and laughed and laughed (especially Mom)! We had so much fun just sitting around together and laughing and cooking marshmellows.

Hopefully we'll be able to do a lot of fires. Only thing is I left the firepit out in the rain today. Hope its ok!

Sure do love you boys! You are the best thing that ever happened to me and your Mom!
This is the first post for my two boys, Noah and Sammy! I want you boys to know that the reason I am doing this is for a couple reasons: first, to create some memories of things we do; second, to hopefully pass along some lessons we've learned; third, cause you never know when God will choose to take me home, and I want you both to know that I love you more than you love me! (smile)

Actually, that is one of the little games we play. Whenever I put you to bed, or am leaving, or for no reason at all, you will say "I love you Dad", and I will respond "I love you more!" Now, it's become such a contest that you do it back to me!

Well, I win today b/c I have a t-shirt that says it! (smile) I love you MORE!!!

But I really do love you boys and your Mom more than anything in the world. You are so special to me, and there is nothing I wouldn't do for you! I love you so much, and I hope this can be an expression of my love for you and the memories we create together!

So, here we go .......
